Throughout the course of History 1120, we learn about many different aspects of Canada pre-confederation. What is evident in this course is that history is not only about the white males. This may seem obvious to many people, but for the longest time, historians left out other people’s sides of the story. When looking at these other sides, we discover the more complete, and accurate accounts of how history happened, and we discover the stories of the women, the aboriginal people, the Africans, and so many others that, for so long, were kept silent.
